Cora Nichols Burge, 91, passed away on December 11, 2005 at the Christian Care Center in Mesquite, TX. Funeral services were held on December 14, 2005 at the Corley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom McMahan and Rev. Bill Jordan officiating. Interment was held at the Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery in Retreat, TX.

Monte Joe (Mojo) Marlow, 43, passed away in his home on November 23, 2005. He died of natural causes due to heart disease.
A Memorial for Monte was held on December 11, 2005 at the Corley Funeral Home in Corsicana, TX. Cremation has taken place. A Marlow Family Memorial will be held at a later date.

William J. (Bill) McKie III passed away on November 11, 2005 after a brief bout with cancer. Funeral services were held on November 13, 2005 at the Corley Funeral Chapel. Burial was at the McKie plot in the Oakwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Todd Jones, Chad Wilson, Dylan Wilson, Brent Morelock, Harold Sanches and Jerry Jones, Honorary Pallbearer was Dalton Duke.
Mr. McKie was born on January 28, 1924 in Corsicana, TX to Ben Whiteselle and Ethel Wilson McKie.
He was a 1941 graduate of Corsicana High School, as well as a graduate of Navarro College. While at Navarro, he served as president of his class and later became a member of the “Barracks Bunch.” Before attending Navarro, he served stateside as a Marine Corps pilot during World War II. Bill graduated from Baylor University with a law degree in 1950, and then served as Corsicana’s city attorney from 1952 to 1958. His entire law career was practived in Navarro County and the surrounding area.

Katherine Ivey Heiser’s funeral services were held on November 17, 2005 at the Mission Park North Chapel in San Antonio, TX with internment following at the cemetery. There will be a memorial service at Custer Road United Methodist Church, 6601 Custer Road, Plano, TX on Friday, November 18, 2005 at 3:00 p.m.
Katherine Hope was born the eldest of four children to Ford and Lee Ellen Ivey on November 28, 1914 in Kerens, TX. After Going through the Kerens school system, Katherine went to the College of Mary Harden Baylor, where she graduated with a degree in music education. She found the love of her life while teaching school and soon married to James E. Heiser, who was also a teacher and coach, on August 21, 1939. They had one child, Dinah Kay, and lived for 54 years in San Antonio, TX, where they both taught school until retirement. Kay was active in San Antonio Retired Teachers Assoc., San Antonio Coaches Wives, Entre Nous Club and Alpha Delta Kappa. Kay received the Yellow Rose of Texas Education Award in 1997.

Went to be home with her Lord and Savior on Sunday November 13, 2005 in Mesquite, Texas. Born March 14, 1935 to Clell Mace and Mary Lou Matthews Riddle in Salmon, Idaho.
She graduated from High School in Victor, Montana; attended Montana State University, Henderson County Junior College and completed degree requirements in 1976 at the University of Texas at Tyler.
She was a veteran of the Women’s Army Corp and a five-year employee of Texas Instruments in Dallas. Since 1976, she was the publisher and editor of The Kerens Tribune, except for the seven-year period when she managed the Tribune for an absentee owner.

Aubrey (A.W.) Wayne Drain, 83, passed away on October 24, 2005 in Temple, TX. Funeral services will be held on October 28, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at the Corley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brad Brittan officiating. Burial will be at the Black Hills Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Sean Drain, Johnny Buchanan, Joseph Buchanan, Jeremy Meredith, Black Meredith and Jordon Meredith.
Mr. Drain was born on November 17, 1921 in Navarro County, TX. His residence was in Dawson, TX. He was a Veteran who served in the Army during World War II. He was a retired oil field worker.

Kathy Marlenia Cannon, 48, passed away October 16, 2005 in Corsicana. Services were held Wednesday, October 19, 2005 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home with Ferman Carpenter officiating. Burial was at Richland Cemetery.
Mrs. Cannon was born November 13, 1956 in Gainesville, TX. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren called her by “Big Momma”. Kathy could be characterized as being free spirited, and having goodwill towards others. Her family was her life and she loved them dearly.

Richard A. Giles, 76, passed away on October 11, 2005 at the Navarro Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held October 16, 2005 at the Corley Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. David Hale officiating. Burial was at the Oakwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Lance King, Chad King, Gregory Giles, Jr., James Pettiette, James Simpson, and Steve Gaines.
Mr. Giles was born on May 26, 1929 in Lamesa, TX. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier after 21 years of service.
He was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Giles, Sr. and eight brother and sisters.

Mrs. Vaola “Jimmie” Conrad of Corsicana went to be with the Lord Sunday, October 16, 2005. Graveside services were held on Tuesday, October 18, 2005 with the Rev. Bill Honea officiating under the direction of Corley Funeral Home
Vaola was born October 21, 1916 in Richland and graduated from Richland High School in 1935. She was a member of United Methodist Church in Whitehouse, TX before moving to Corsicana. She and her husband lived in Shreveport, LA for many years where they owned and operated a successful business.

Mrs. Belle Barron, 95, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2005 in Corsicana. Services were held Monday, October 17, 2005 at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike Alexander officiating. Burial was at Resthavan Memorial Park in Corsicana.
Mrs. Barron was born August 23, 1910 in Brown County, TX. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in deather by her husband of 60 years, Dr. R. Lano Barron.

Michael E. Wilson, 61, passed away September 25, 2005. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 1, 2005 at Corley Funeral Chapel in Corsicana with Brother Vernon McGuyer officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, September 30, 2005 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Corley Funeral Home.
Mr. Wilson was born March 1, 1944 in Corsicana, Texas. He was employed by Collin Street Bakery as a computer programmer.

Mary Nell Cherry, 91, passed away on September 12, 2005, at the Heritage Oaks West Nursing Home in Corsicana, Texas. Services were held on September 14, 2005, at the Kerens First Baptist Church with Rev. Royce Measures officiating and Rev. Wes Johnson assisting. Burial was held at the Prairie Point Cemetery. Pallbearers were Norton Conner, Buster Atkeisson, Robbie Griffin, Dick Rea, Marvin Henderson and Terry Kelm. Honorary Pallbearers were Jerry Shelton, Don Baxter, Billy Shelton, Jimmy Tyner and Harold Tyner.

Bernice Pickens Sprinkle, 87, of Corsicana, TX, passed away September 21, 2005 in Lewisville, TX.
Funeral services were held September 23, 2005 at the First Christian Church with Rev. Mark Luera officiating. Burial was held at the Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery.
Mrs. Sprinkle was preceded in death by her husband, Chester O. Sprinkle.
She is Survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Byron Wells of Flower Mound, TX; son, David Sprinkle of Dallas, TX; and a granddaughter and her husband, Jennifer and John Clay of Lewisville, TX.
