It is not true that the Great Wall of China is the only man-made structure that can be viewed from space - many man-made objects, including the Dutch polders, can be viewed from space.
And Now You Do

randallh writes "I'm sure hoping that in the future Corsicana will see a new bypass around town. It sure would help the traffic flow. Also that intersection and street has seen numerous accidents. I'm hoping the State of Texas will start soon on this project. It is badly needed."

randallh writes "The Corsicana Tigers playoff game will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Texas Stadium in Irving, Texas. This game will be the regional semifinal game. The game will be carried on local Corsicana radio station KAND 1340 am. If you can't attend the game in person the local radio station will carry the play by play action. It should be a great game. Go Tigers."

These two guys have paired up to write a half dozen or so decent science fiction books and a couple of real good ones. They wrote “The Relic” about a monster that gets loose in the Chicago Natural History Museum and also one about the “Oak Pit” on Oak Island that has baffled treasure hunters for years. I think there is a book review floating around here somewhere about the latter one. A sequel was written after “The Relic” called “Reliquary.” I haven’t read that one yet, but it is sitting on my shelves somewhere and will come down some day.

randallh writes "In the future there will be a new Holiday Inn Express Motel and Medical Arts will have a new clinic on Highway 287. Collins Street Bakery will be having a new retail store on that highway in the near future. I hope to see more retail out there since Home Depot and Gander Mountain located out there."

The phone rang at 5:30 a.m. sharp early last Saturday morning and the voice on the other end says “Your Wakeup Call Mr. Darby.” I yawned widely, hit a switch behind me, and the big crystal chandelier hanging in the middle of the room lit up so brightly it made me blink. This was a morning I had planned for a while and my blood pressure shot straight up as I bounced out of the bed to get ready for my trip to the Park beside the Library. I could not wait and wanted to be one of the first ones in the park so I could watch the area come alive.

Business: K-Mart And Sears Joining Forces
|
|
randallh writes "I just heard on the news that former bankrupt retailer K-Mart and Sears are joining forces to merge the two companies March of 2005. I guess they are doing this to compete with Walmart and Target. Walmart being the largest retailer in the U.S. Target stores coming in a close second. I guess we will have to wait and see what happens?"

randallh writes "At Gunbarrel, Texas on Cedar Creek Lake there will be in the future a new residential retail marina complex. Also at Mabank, Texas there will be a new subdivision called the Ranch on Cedar Creek Lake. That area is a fast growing place. There should also be more retail in that area in the not too distant future."

Religion: "Nicolae" by Tim Lahaye & Jerry B. Junkins
|
|
Published: 1997; Pages: 415; Rating: Good
Nicolae is the bad guy, no doubt about it. In fact, he is the Antichrist or at least it appears that way. This is the third book in the recently famous “Left Behind” series that novelizes Revelations from the Bible.
As we begin this book there is an underground command center built beneath the original church where the left behind Christians have their meetings. Nicolae has taken over the world via the United Nations and has dropped atomic bombs on a few odd and end places, such as Chicago, to make people behave. He is tired of the wife “Hallie” he married and, but she is pregnant. Can an Antichrist have children? I guess so if I am understanding the plot correctly.
