There are 400 activity directors in Texas and many will have to go back to school to be Texas State certified. Dawn has already completed her school. She was already certified, but as of 2006 all will have to go back to be Texas State certified and she got a jump on this completion."

One more Ed McBain novel for those that like a decently fast moving mystery and a whodunit where someone surely done it. This is probably the last Ed McBain book I will buy, but there might be one or more left in my queue that have to be traveled through. Mr. Ed has been around for a long time, maybe too long. His mysteries are good and he has legions of fans, but they seem to be old hat after you have been through the first twenty of his 87th Precinct Novels. Police procedurals and a few corpses laying around along with a hand full of suspects. That’s it. These days I like James Patterson, Michael Connelly, and Robert Crais better.

“See, I Told You So!” But no, I am not talking about Rush Limbaugh’s sequel to his bestselling “The Way Things Ought To Be.” Instead, I am talking about “The Lord Of The Rings” doing a slam dunk on Harry Potter this week in the annual Oscar’s extravaganza. Was not that great? In an earlier column I made the case that those Hobbits made a much better literary tale than the Wizards of Potter Land, but postponed judgment on the movie until now.
(Why does “judgment” not have an “e” after “g” ? Where are you Mrs. Curington when I need you? It just does not seem right.)

Business: Corsicana Planning and Zoning Drops Ball Again
|
|
randallh writes "In Corsicana, Texas on Highway 22 would have been a good place for a Dollar General store since there is little retail out there and would have brought in tax dollars to this community. I hope in the future we will put people on that planning board that are for the betterment of Corsicana. You can't keep saying no to new businesses that want to locate in this area. Maybe cooler heads will win out."

randallh writes "The New Corsicana Tiger Football Stadium should be completed and ready for play next September 1st, 2006. It will be a multi-use stadium. It will seat 10 thousand people and have room for 12 hundred cars and trucks. The football playing field will be astroturf with an all-weather running track. That is very good news for the local high school. Something for the Corsicana Tiger fans to cheer about."

“The Communicator.” Get used to hearing that term because that is the next big gadget that will be sweeping across the USA here in the very near future. They are not in the stores yet, but they are being packaged and getting ready for delivery right now. In fact, it is already the most popular communications device being sold in Europe right now.
