randallh writes "In the near future, Navarro County Electric Co-op will provide electric power to the new Corsicana ISD Football Stadium that will be built across the road from Corsicana High School. Their bid was lower than TXU Electric."

randallh writes "In the very near future on Bosque Blvd in Waco, there will be a larger Bush's Chicken eating place. It will seat over 106 people and it will be located in a former Eckerds Drug Store. That part of Waco is really growing. The restaurant should open in early November."

randallh writes "On West Seventh Ave across from the Sirloin Stockade Restaurant, there is a new Dollar Tree dollar store where everything is under a dollar. That is great news for the Corsicana area. I'm hoping more businesses are on the way."

Local News: Kerens Care Center Activity Director #40 in Texas to be State Certified

Anonymous writes "Dawn Gowin, of the Chatfield-Tupelo area, was #40 in the state of Texas to be Texas State Certified as an activity professional. There are 400 activity directors in Texas and many will have to go back to school to be Texas State certified. Dawn has already completed her school. She was already certified, but as of 2006 all will have to go back to be Texas State certified and she got a jump on this completion."

randallh writes "Let's all hope that Hurricane Rita won't be too destructive in her path up the Texas coastline and that some of the punch will be taken out of this dangerous storm I have a few family members who live down there and I hope they will be safe."

Events: Museum for East Culture Collector's Fair to be held October 22nd in Palestine

The Collectors Fair is being held in conjunction with the city’s Hot Pepper Fall Fest. If you have a collection you would like to display contact the Museum office at 903-723-1914 to reserve your space. There will be no charge to display your collectibles; however display space is limited so call early to reserve your space. You can also go by the Museum at 400 S. Micheaux Ave to sign up."

randallh writes "The New Corsicana Tiger Football Stadium should be completed and ready for play next September 1st, 2006. It will be a multi-use stadium. It will seat 10 thousand people and have room for 12 hundred cars and trucks. The football playing field will be astroturf with an all-weather running track. That is very good news for the local high school. Something for the Corsicana Tiger fans to cheer about."

THE VISITING NURSE ASSOCIATION
The Visiting Nurse Association needs hospice volunteers who want to help terminally ill patients and their families.
A three-day training program in volunteer hospice care will be held October 4, 5, and 6 from 9 a.m. to
4 p.m. at the First Christian Church at 805 W. Baldrige Street in Ennis. Training is provided at no cost."

This fall they will be making the world famous Deluxe Collin Street Fruit Cake to be shipped across the world."

randallh writes "In Gun Barrel City, ground was broken for the new retail project on Cedar Creek Lake. There will be a new LaQuinta Inn and a Golden Corral Restaurant. Also there will be a 175 unit older people housing unit with a new shopping center complex. An eight screen cinema is in the works as well as a new Bennigans Restaurant."

randallh writes "Well, it's the start of football season for the Corsicana Tigers. It's getting off to a good start with the Corsicana Tigers winning over Arlington Bowie 35 to 16 Friday night at Tiger Field. Hopefully this will be a preview of a winning season for the Corsicana High School team."

randyglenh writes "In the near future, Gun Barrel, Texas on Cedar Creek Lake will see a new Bennigans, Golden Corral restaurant, La Quinta Motel, and in the works is an eight screen cinema from Oklahoma called Select Cinemas. That is very good news for the Cedar Creek Lake area. I see more good news for that area."
