Anonymous writes "On the western side of Navarro county is a beautiful lake, Navarro Mills Lake, where people can have family reunions or picnics or to camp out at Oak Park on the eastern side of the lake. There is also public camping on the western side of this lake just a few miles on a tank of gas. Visit it soon."

Business: Burkes Closes at College Park Mall
randallh writes "In the next few weeks or sooner, the Burkes Retail Store will close at College Park Mall. That is a shame. Not many retail stores remain at the local mall. Since Walmart left for a newer and bigger supercenter, so did J.C. Penneys. Goodys Clothing Store still remains as does the Bealls Clothing Store. I wonder what will happen to that local Mall? We can only wait and see if new business will choose Corsicana or go some where else."

Business: New Business for East Side of Town
randallh writes "On the east side of town there will be a new family dollar store on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd just across from where the old Greyhound Bus Terminal used to be. Looks like a new strip shopping center going up? Out on highway 287 near the Shell Store, there is a sign that says Corsicana Towne Center, 30 Retail And Pad Sites. Let's hope that side of town sees new growth in the upcoming Spring Of 2006."

randallh writes "I am hoping in the future the 132 acre retail site that is the home For Gander Mountain, Chilis Restaurant, and Home Depot will see new business out there in the first half of 2006."

News: Is Digital Television in your Future?
randallh writes "Some time in the near future, you may have to have a new digital TV set to pick up the new TV signal . After February 17th, 2009, the Dallas, Texas TV stations will switch off the current TV signals to broadcast all digital TV signals. The Dallas, Texas TV stations are broadcasting digital signals right now. You have to have a special set to pick up the new signals, or you may buy a converter box to watch the new signals on your current television set when the analog TV signals are turned off."

News: NFL Football Gets New Home Next Fall
randallh writes "If you have been watching Monday Night Football for the past several seasons on ABC TV channel 8 out of Dallas, Texas, you may have to get Cable TV or Satellite TV like Dish Network or Direct TV because the games will be carried on ESPN Sports Cable Network. ESPN will carry the games over the next eight years. "

randallh writes "If you have a chance drive thru Community Park to see the beautiful Christmas lights. They are beautiful at night. Dennis Thornberg and friends put up these lights every year at Christmas time. Thank these local people for their hard work each year. The Christmas lights are very pretty."

soulbrother writes "There's a study on how to send hugs over the internet. It seems that there's a need for human to have affection at any cost, even to the point of sending hugs over the internet. To faciliate the venture a study is being undertaken to use chickens as test dummies. It's as crazy as polyester pants causing cancer in lab mice. What's a mice doing wearing pants any way? It would seem that they would eat off before they would have a chance. This news came from NPR news out of Pasadena, California November 28, 2005."

Business: New Collin Street Bakery on 132 Acre Retail Site
randallh writes "In the future, Collin Street Bakery will have a new retail store on the 132 acre retail site not far from Chilis Restaurant. They will also have a full scale bakery in the new 8000 square foot building where people can take out the Collin Street Bakery products. That is very good news. I hope to hear about more retail stores for that growing retail site. I hope to hear more by the end of 2006."

Anonymous writes "I just saw your posting about dogcatradio. It might be of interest to know they weren't the first ones to come up with the concept for broadcasting to animals. There is a radio station for cats called Cat Galaxy out there which has existed since 2001. Their web site addy is www.catgalaxymedia.com.
As a fan of felines I hope many out there will give it a listen. My cats and I love it. We checked out dogcatradio though and all it seems that they did was copy the cat station. Not very original thinking if you ask me."

randallh writes "In the very near future we all should hear about a Major retailer on the 132 acre retail site along with some major restaurants? I will keep you informed."

cmsalch writes "I'm wondering if anybody saw this, because I can't find anyone else who did except the people in the car with me. Last night (11/14/05), I was traveling between Kilgore and Tyler on Hwy. 31. This was about 8:15 or so. The sky suddenly lit up to a kind of medium blue--not as bright as the daytime sky, but close. I looked up and there was this bright white flash shooting across the sky, kind of like certain fireworks. It was too high to be any danger, so I wasn't worried. I know that the Leonid meteor shower is supposed to be going on right now, and that's what I'm assuming it is, even though it was way brighter than any meteorite I have ever seen and throwing off sparks to boot. My question (besides 'did anybody else see it') is, does anyone have any idea of what else it might be? Then again, maybe it wasn't visible in Kerens at all...

Business: New Target Store or Best Buy for 132 Acre Retail Project
randallh writes "In the future you may not have to drive to Dallas or Waco to shop at a Target Store or Best Buy. They may be in our own backyard if all goes well? Corsicana could see one or two of these stores located here in the future around 2006 or the year 2007 with some major restaurants. Chilis calls the 132 acre retail project home on Highway 287 and so does Gander Mountain and Home Depot. "
