I Didn't Know
The living does not outnumber the dead: since the creation about 60 billion people have died.

And Now You Do

Book of Proverbs
24:14, So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.

Local News: Gholson Homecoming
News randyghughes writes "This past Saturday we went to a fun event in Gholson, Texas. It was a Homecoming for my mom who grew up as a girl in the small community of Gholson, Texas. A Small town just a few miles north of Waco, Texas. It was held at the school where my mom went to. She saw a lot of her friends that had been in her class. They also had good food. I also visited the gym where my mom played on the girls basketball team. The "Gholson Wildcats." A great way to spend a Saturday afternoon."

Business: Business Around Corsicana.
News randyghughes writes "At the Navarro Mall on Main Street in Corsicana, they are fixing up the parking lot to make way for Northrup Gruman, a defense contractor that will have local offices in the mall. I'm sure they will hire local people to work in that office. Also, on the other side of town where Interstate 45 intersects with Highway 287, I have heard that Office Depot might have a new store in the future not far from Home Depot and the Chilis restaurant located in that part of Corsicana."

The lake has been in the spotlight on Dallas-Fort Worth's "Hot on Homes" television show which shows on WFFA tv channel 8, Saturday and Sunday mornings. This is one of the most beautiful large lakes in the state of Texas. Come see this beautiful lake sometime. It is just down the highway on 287."

Local News: Corsicana Weather Radar
News randyghughes writes "During this time of year, it is a comfort to know we have weather radar here in the Corsicana area to inform us of bad weather or tornadic thunderstorms. With people like loyd huffman robert herod bill dosser and the other storm spotters and volunteers who keep corsicana informed and safe, my hat is off to these wonderful people."

Local News: Drugs, Thieves, & Prostitution
News Last night our pastor gave a sermon on drugs on our city streets and how we should be keeping ours eyes open because if we do not then we are as guilty as those who sell them to our children. The point is he is right. We are all resposible for not looking out for our youth and if not us, then who will. Since I live way outside town, I did not realize what is going on inside the city limits. But from now on, I will be looking around and we all should. We can give up our streets to the thugs and drug dealers or we can all stand up and fight them and send them packing from our home town.

Local News: What I Want On Main Street
News What I would like to see on Main Street?

First, a good automotive place with real mechanics.

Second, a good hardware store with lumber nails and things guys want to buy so we do not have to drive to the big C or A.

How about a real autoparts store unlike the one on Colket that I have never seen open in the three years I have lived here.

Kerens is located on one of the busiest highways going to East Texas. Every thing is moving toward Corsicana off hwy 45 and sooner then later we will have to grow and expand. How about contacting Walmart and have them consider building here. Like they say, build it and they will come. We can either grow with the times or dry up and blow away.

Local News: Richland-Chambers Lake development auction
News Anonymous writes " High-end home sites in Richland-Chambers
Lake development to sell at auction

CORSICANA, TEXAS (May 17, 2006) – From the time he decided to create a high-end subdivision on Richland-Chambers Lake, Chris Lupo had already decided that he would sell the home sites in the development at auction.

Now, after some two years of work, the auction signs are going up, and bidders from all over Texas (and probably well beyond) will gather around a podium on Saturday, June 24, for the auction of 41 sites in Chambers Landing, with J.P. King Auction Company managing the sale.

“We think it’s the fastest way to get these sites into hands of owners who are going to build homes and get the development into full swing,” said Lupo, president of FrontLine Ventures, based in Greenville, S.C."
