Business: New Growth at Cedar Creek Lake

randyghughes writes "Well, dirt is flying at Cedar Creek Lake with new businesses being built at Gun Barrel City on Cedar Creek Lake. A new CVS Pharmacy is being built. Also, a new Fuddruckers restaurant will be built and a La Quinta Inn. A new cinema, AArons Rent to Own, and a new shopping center called Heritage Cove will be built along with several new businesses. That area has really grown over the past few years as these new businesses make Cedar Creek Lake home."

randyghughes writes "In this Ellis county town of Ennis, Texas, there is new business growth. A new hotel is going up on Highway 45. Also it looks like a new strip shopping center is going in. Already there is a Starbucks Coffee shop andn a new bank is in the process of being built. Along further up the street there is a CVS Pharmacy retail store with a new Walgreens retail store across the street. I'm sure more new business is headed to this fair city."

randyghughes writes "Out on Highway 287 at the 132 acre retail site, groundwork has already started for the new Office Depot store next to Chilis Restaurant. A firm out of Tyler, Texas is breaking up the ground to make way for a new Office Depot. Itl should open several months from now. There will be 25 full time and part time people that will work in the new Corsicana, Texas store. Office Depot is also building a new retail store in Waco, Texas at the Central Texas Market place off Interstate 35 and Loop 340 in Waco."

randyghughes writes "If you have been out by Chilis Restaurant, you may notice there is some groundwork maybe going on for the new Office Depot retail store. I hope that construction will start soon on this new store. My personal wish list, I would like to see a Sam's Club out there too and maybe a really nice cinema with stadium seating. A Target or Super Target would be nice also. They really need a really good grocery store on this side of town."

randyghughes writes "In Waco, Texas where the Central Texas Marketplace shopping center sits, there will be more retail for that two year old shopping complex. Office Depot will construct a new store, there will also be an Ashley furniture store, a new Bush's Chicken restaurant, and a Payless Prototype store. Also there are talks in progess to bring in more big box retail stores. The shopping center which is located at Interstate 35 and West Loop 340 has a 95 percent occupancy rate. The Payless Shoe Store will be the first of its kind for Waco and more stores or on the way."

randyghughes writes "In this Ellis County town of Waxahachie, there will be a new J.C. Penneys full service retail store along with a new Cotton Patch Restaurant and Olive Garden Restaurant. That area is rapidly growing with a Target retail store there and a Belks Department store. Along Interstate 35 and Highway 77, there is also there is a Johnny Carinos restaurant along with several other shops in that shopping center. "

randyghughes writes "If you have been to a Skinnys store on West Seventh or West Second, there are some big changes in the works. Skinnys will become Seven Eleven again here in Corsicana, Texas. Seven Eleven was once here in Corsicana at both locations. It was once Circle K, then Skinnys stores. Now it comes full circle. Over the next few months you will notice the change."

randyghughes writes "In the East Texas town of Tyler, there will be a new cinema, only this one will be outdoors. It will open July 1st. It will cost six dollars for adults to get in. As you know, our fair city at one time had two outdoor drive-in movies. The Hillside on South 15th in Corsicana and the Navarro drive-in on West Highway 31. There is a drive-in in Garrett in Ellis County up the Interstate on Highway 45 North or you can go to the website driveinmovie.com to see if there are any drive-in movies in your area."

southerncrossranch writes "There are a few things that could be done to drum up economic business for Kerens and keep the kids off the streets. How about a skating rink? Where I grew up, generations of kids would spend Friday nights and Saturdays going skating and people had a place to give their kids birthday parties. Or how about a bowling alley or small indoor movie theatre. Or a putt putt golf course or a small arcade where they could purchase hot dogs and nachos and hamburgers while playing their games or shooting pool. Or how about a city park with a swimming pool area. Like the line says, you build it, they will come."

randyghughes writes "This summer, if you are out on a boat, it's very important to wear life jackets. They save lives. Everyone that goes out on the water at area lakes, if it's Richland Chambers or Cedar Creek Lake, needs to be safe so that your day in the sun won't turn into tragedy."

They won't mess up our image of the town by scratching up all the rails and it will keep them from skating on your property and scaring off custormers. We had Dish Network about a year ago, but satellite tv is affected by rain. With our local Northland Cable TV, you get your local channels and and your other cable tv channels. The guys were very nice and sevice was installed.

They not only sell computers, but also do repair work on your computers. There was a lot of people and good food including yours truly. They are located at 411 West First Street here in Corsicana, Texas. They also have an internet website.

ivan writes "A recent article discussing today’s epidemic of drugs around Kerens caught my attention. The author was of the viewpoint that drug users seem to adopt their loathsome and self-destructive habits because of lack of anything better to do. Kerens was identified as a place with no jobs and no social events, and as a place from which many people have no opportunity of departing. This article set me thinking about an earlier Kerens generation, the one of which I am a member, and I began to reflect upon the kind of activities available to us in those days."
