randyghughes21 writes "Hopefully it won't be too long before the new Dennys Restaurant will be open. That is a good place to eat. I would like to see a really nice Cinema out on Highway 287. Hopefully that area of town will see more growth. Now if they could start on the long delayed highway bypass that would be good. I also would like too see an Heb Plus store in Corsicana. They have a really nice one in Waco, Texas."

randyghughes21 writes "The new Showbiz Cinema on Broadhead road in Waxahachie is already open. It has Stadium seating and Dolby Digital sound. That is a already growing area of Waxahachie with a Best Buy electronics store already open.Target has a store not too far away and JC Penneys, Belks, and Hastings are also not far away. Everytime I have been up there I see new retail growth."

News: Are You Ready for the Digital TV Switchover?
randyghughes21 writes "On June 12th, all the Dallas and Fort. Worth TV stations will stop broadcasting the analog TV signal and broadcast only in the digital mode. If you have an antenna based TV, you will have to have a digital converter box or a set with a digital tuner built in. The picture and sound are much better and clearer. If you have cable TV or satellite TV, you do not have to do a thing. These systems are already setup for the transition to the new broadcast system."

Business: New Collin Street Bakery in Waco
randyghughes21 writes "If you have been out to our Collin Street Bakery retail store on Highway 287, there is a new Collin Street Bakery in Bellmead just off Interstate 35 in Waco, Texas. They employ several people. The Waco store sells cookies, cakes, pies, sandwiches, and soft drinks for the lunch time crowd in Waco. I'm sure the Waco location will be very busy this Christmas of 2009 selling the world famous Collin Street fruitcake which is shipped worldwide every Christmas season."
randyghughes21 writes "It looks like they have the framework up for the new Denny's Restaurant that hopefully will be open by late summer. Also, the new Office Depot just opened this Spring. It is a very nice store indeed. I was hoping Corsicana in the future could get a really nice Cinema on Highway 287. That would be icing on the cake."
rrandyghughes writes "Hopefully by May the new Denny's Restaurant will be open. In the future, many Corsicana residents will be able to order Denny's Grand Slam breakfast and in April the new Office Depot will open, hopefully with more new businesses on the way for Corsicana and Navarro county."

Local News: are you ready for the digital transition?
rrandyghughes writes "Will you be ready for the digital TV transition in February 2009? The 17th of that month, all TV stations in the Dallas Area will shut off the analog TV broadcast and only broadcast in the digital TV mode for good. If you still use an outside TV antenna, you will have to buy a digital over the air converter box or buy a TV that has a digital tuner."
rrandyghughes writes "This Christmas season while you are out shopping for family & friends, please give to the Salvation Army's red kettles. They do so much good for this community and they are God's Angels. Please give gifts of money, food, clothing, and Christmas gifts to adults and children who otherwise would not have as bright a Christmas. "

rrandyghughes writes "If you have been driving by West Seventh, you will notice that the former Long John Silvers restaurant has closed. It has relocated to business highway 77 in Waxahachie, Texas where I'm sure they will do better."

The Red Cross and other volunteer agencies give so much to help displaced people that were left homeless by this terrible storm. Corsicana was very lucky, but other towns suffered. The music world has lost a great music talent. Mr. Reed was 71 ."

"It's no sweat, Henry. Russ made it back to Bugtown before he died. So he'll
regenerate in a couple of days. It's just awful sloppy of him to get killed in
the first place. Humph!"
