randallh writes "I was talking to Darwin Myers with the Texas Highway Department of Transportation and he said the new bypass for Corsicana will take three years to complete. Palestine, Texas and Athens, Texas already have these highway loops in place. It will be nice when it is completed. West Seventh is very congested."

randallh writes "There is a new Woodforest Branch Bank inside the Corsicana Super Walmart. I have still not heard what is going inside the new building that is going up in front of the Corsicana Super Walmart. I hope to hear soon."

randallh writes "As I earlier reported, the Best Buy electronics store in Waco will close at their old location October 31st and reopen November 5th. These are the correct dates. Also Panera Breads that also has baked goods will open it's restaurant in April, but that could change. The Bombay Company, which sells home furnishings, will open it's 4,300 square foot store in the marketplace November 24th. "

randallh writes "There is a new shopping center in Waco, Texas just off Loop 340 and Interstate 35. It has opened several major retail stores including Kohls, Belks, and Old Navy. And with more on the way. Best Buy Electronics that had been near Richland Mall will open their new store November 5th and will close the older store on Waco Drive on November 18th. Also, there will be a new Starbucks Coffee store later in the year."

randallh writes "In Canton, Texas where they have the trade days, a 21 acre water park is being planned for that area with a large pool and water slides. I'm sure concessions will be added to the new waterpark. It should be open by next summer."

randallh writes "Up interstate 45 in the town of Ennis, Texas more new businesses are calling the Ellis county town home. A new IHOP restaurant is under construction near Bealls Department Store. A new Walgreens Pharmacy and retail store will cover an entire city block. Two new banks are planned. A 160 unit apartment complex is under way and seven more companys will possibly locate in Ennis, Texas."

Business: New Construction At Corsicana HEB Store

randallh writes "Yesterday I saw that HEB Grocery was doing some work on the store. I have heard that the front of the store could be the business section for the store. Out in the handicapped parking lot they were digging up the handicapped parking places. I guess to make them better. I wish HEB had built a HEB plus like they did in Hewitt, Texas which is a community near Waco, Texas. The new store in Hewitt has much more room to move around in."

That will help Gunbarrel, Texas and Seven Points tax base. Also a new luxury hotel. That area should see more growth over the next few years."

randallh writes "In the town of Waxahachie, Texas they will be getting a new Target store, possibly a Super Target. Along with that they will be getting a new Lowes home improvement store and a Belks department store that is similar to Foleys or Dillards. Plus they will be getting several major restaurants. That area of Ellis County is really growing."

randallh writes "There may be more new retail for the Cedar Creek Lake area with a proposed hotel and shopping mall going up in Seven Points, Texas. That would help that city's tax base. I see more for that area in the very near future."

randallh writes "Out on West Highway 31 where the old Texas Deparment of Transportation used to sit, the old buildings are being torn down to make way for new shops, restaurants, and possibly a new Cinema with stadium seating. Hopefully i will know more soon."

randallh writes "The Main Place Cinema at Seven Points, Texas on Cedar Creek Lake has a website. It's www.main place cinema.com. It lists the times for the movies showing and it has a map on how to get to the cinema. And with them upgrading of the cinema, it will be worth a trip."

randallh writes "The One Main Place Cinema at Seven Points, Texas will add two more screens with 600 new seats and state of the art digital surround sound. That area is growing."

randallh writes "The bond issue has passed in Corsicana and Corsicana High School will have a new stadium that will seat 8,000 football fans. There will also be a new concession stand, new pressbox, also the new stadium will be used for Navarro College football games. And it can be used for playoff games. I'm glad the bond passed. It's time to move forward."
