randallh writes "In the near future there might be a Golden Corral Restaurant in Corsicana, Texas. As you know a couple of months ago Golden Corral Restaurant left town. Then China King Super Buffet came in and then they went out of business. I only hope this time Golden Corral will stay."

Local News: New Lake Homes on Richland Chambers Lake

randallh writes "In the near future there may be a new housing subdivison called The Shores. it would be located on Spur 294 at Highway 287 in the Richland Chambers Lake area. That is a growing area already with beautiful lake homes on the north side of this big lake and beautiful homes on the south side of the lake."

randallh writes "Up here in North Texas on the shores of Lake Lewisville they had a festival this past Saturday. It was very nice with different food booths and shuttle rides to the event. Lots of people came to this event. It is held every summer with pony rides for the kids. Even boats were on display for people who wanted to buy the new boats."

randallh writes "If all goes well, Corsicana High School should have a new football stadium next year where the Corsicana Tigers and Navarro College Bulldogs can play their football games. The new football field would be directly across from the high school. It is badly needed as the current stadium is out of date. High school playoff games could be played in the new stadium and it would bring in revenue for both the town and CISD."

randallh writes "In the near future Watkins Construction will break ground on the new Corsicana National Bank branch that will be located on Highway 287. It will be a full service bank that will serve not only Corsicana but also Mildred, Navarro, and the Richland Chambers Lake area. That is great news for a growing area."

randallh writes "In the very near future Cracker Barrel will be breaking ground on Highway 287 for a new restaurant to be built in Corsicana, Texas. Hopefully more new jobs are on their way for the Corsicana and Navarro County area. Chilis Restaurant will open some time in July on Highway 287. "

Anonymous writes "I would like to take this time to acknowledge the Kerens Care Center. We have an outreach ministry from our church and we go there every Wednesday and 3 Sundays a month. Each time I have gone, we have noticed that every one who comes in contact with these residents, have feelings for them. They aren't just there for a pay check, but they give of themselves to every person who lives there. Even on Sundays, when all the office help is not in, there is no difference in the way these people are treated by the help. The aides are very responsive and quick to help anyone out, even if that person is not on their duty hall for the day."

randallh writes "Well Corsicana will have a new Chilis Restaurant open sometime in July on Highway 287. I heard that Cracker Barrel has signed a letter of intent to build as well. Also this will mean more new jobs for the Corsicana and Navarro County area. Corsicana is a great place to start a new business. Hopefully Corsicana will see a new upgraded Cinema with stadium seating."

randallh writes "If you live in Corsicana, Texas or Navarro County and have a police scanner, you can pick up the local weather forecast for Corsicana by going to 162.525. That is the local weather channel in times of severe weather in our area. Or you can go to the local Radio Shack store on West Seventh and buy a weatherband radio. They come in handy in times of severe storms in our area."

randallh writes "Out on Interstate Highway 45 at the highway 287 interchange, not this summer but next year maybe, a new water theme park could be in the works for that part of town behind the Corsicana Inn Motel. Along with that would be a major hotel convention center. That would be great along with the new Chilis Restaurant that will open this summer bringing more new jobs to this area. "

randallh writes "The Sirloin Stockade Restaurant has reopened and they have great food and is even more roomy than before. This is a great place for lunch or dinner and a nice place to eat dinner on sunday after church. They are located on West Seventh avenue in Corsicana, Texas. Try them out soon you will be glad you did."

Local News: Kenneth Anderson Named Carroll Middle School Principal

Anonymous writes "The Southlake Carroll Trustees unanimously approved the hiring of Kenneth Anderson as principal of Carroll Middle School. Mr Anderson is currently serving as assistant principal at Dawson Middle School and was an assistant principal at CMS prior to that. He received his Bachelors of Science degree from Tarleton State Universtiy in 1992 and his Masters of Education from Sul Ross State University in 2000. Kenneth graduated from Kerens in 1987 and was an All Golden Circle tight end for the Bobcats. He is the son of former Coach and A.D. Jerry Don Anderson and Barbara Anderson."

randallh writes "There will be two new gated home communities in Corsicana. One will be on the Country Club Road, the other near Collins Middle School and North 26th Street. The one on Dobbins road will be called Dobbins Road Crossing. It will be a gated community as well with a jogging trail and gazebo and I'm sure a community pool. More new homes hopefully will bring new jobs to the Corsicana - Navarro County area ."

randallh writes "I have heard that the new Sirloin Stockade restaurant has opened on West Seventh. Also I hear that the Corsicana Area Chamber of Commerce will have public meetings in June to talk about new business coming to our fair city. That is excellent news for Corsicana and Navarro county residents. Corsicana is on the move. I hope for more good news this summer and new employment for our community."
