Services for ollie Nadin Johnston, 85, of Trinidad were held at 10;00 a.m., Wednesday, at the
Tomlinson Funeral Home Chapel in Malakoff with Floyd Loven officiating. Burial was in the Trinidad
Cemetary.
Mrs. Johnston passed away Monday in Athens. She was born December 12, 1919 in Kerens to Lon Thomas and Margaret Ollie Scarbrough and has been a lifelong resident of the community. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Trinidad. She married Loyd James Johnston on April 29, 1938 in Mankin, Tx. Upon his death in 2000, they had been married for 62 years.

Gladys Arnett Douglas, 97, of Kerens passed away Saturday, March 19, 2005 in Kerens.
Services were held on Monday, March 21, 2005, at Corley Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Gary W.
Johnson and Rev. Bobby Seago officiating.
Interment was at Cryer Creek Cemetary.
Mrs. Douglas was born March 4, 1908 in Cryer Creek.

Services for Gonsalo "Miguel" Vasquez, 42, of Trinidad were held at 1:00 p.m. on March 25, 2005
at the Mary Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Malakoff. Burial was at the Mankin Cemetary near
Trinidad.
Miguel passed away March 19, 2005 in Zavala County. He was born January 10, 1963 in
El Posito, Mexico to Genaro and Manula Vasquez.
He is survived by his wife, Beth Vasquez of
Trinidad:children Michael, Malissa, Lee and Stephanie Vasquez of Trinidad; parents Genaro and
Manula Vasquez of Mexico; brother Tony Vasquez of Florida and two sisters, Rosa and Carmen
Vasquez of Mexico.

Johnnie Aline Tramel, of Tom Bean, passed away Friday, February 4th, 2005 in Sherman.
Funeral services for Mrs. Tramel were at 2:00 p.m. Mnday, February 7th, at the Church of Christ in Tom Bean with Mr. A. C. Quinn officiating. Interment followed at the Vittitoe Cemetery in Tom Bean, Grayson County.
Mrs. Tramel was born December 17th, 1909 to John F. and Johnnie Ball.

Maria Delgado, 63, of Kerens passed away Saturday, February 12th, 2005 at the Hospice of Tyler. Maria was born July 4th, 1941 in Victoria, Mexico.
Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 16th, at the Paschal Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Tommy Hayes officiating. Burial followed at the Prairie Point Cemetery.

Marshall Ainsworth, 63, of Kerens passed away Monday, February 7th, 2005 at the East Texas Medical Center in Athens.
Marshall was born May 22nd, 1941 in Rice, Texas.

Melba Rea, 92, of Kerens passed away at the Heritage Oaks East Nursing Home Saturday, February 5th, 2005.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 8th, 2005 at the First Baptist Church of Kerens with the Reverend Wes Johnson officiating. Burial was at the Kerens Cemetery.

Viola E. young, 94, of Corsicana, Texas passed away Wednesday, February 2nd, 2005 at the Heritage Oaks West Nursing Home. She was born July 21st, 1910 in Scotland, Texas.
Visitation was held Thursday, February 3rd, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Paschal Funeral Home.
Services were held Friday, February 4th at 9:00 a.m. at the Paschal Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Dennis Mott officiating. Burial was held at 2:00 p.m. at the Fairview Cemetery in Denison, Texas.
Pallbearers were her loving friends.

Kenneth Lee Ray, 78, passed away at home in Powell around dawn on Monday, January 24th, 2005. Mr. Ray was born February 6th, 1926, at Phillips Chapel, Navarro County, to Doss and Georgia Ray, the youngest of three children. The Ray family moved to Overton during the East Texas oil boom, but returned to Navarro County where young Kenneth began school at Powell. Mr. Ray enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving in the Pacific theater combat in Guam, Saipan, Okinawa, and the Phillipines; also participating in the occupation of Japan after the surrender in August/September 1945. As a landing craft pilot, Mr. Ray facilitated the beach landings of Marines and, while assigned to the U.S.S. Custer, an attack transport, witnessed the Kamikaze attacks of late World War II.

Clinton Heath Massey, 80, passed away December 31st, 2004. He was born in Kerens, Texas to William H. and Meda Massey October 21st, 1924. He is survived by two children, Deborah Sue Bernstein of Carbondale, Illinois and Michael W. Massey of Nashville, Tennessee; one grandchild, Craig Massey of Phoenix, Arizona; and his present wife Dottie and step-children Mike, Mitch, Steve, and Karen; fourteen step-grandchildren and ten great step-grandchildren; one brother, Etheridge Massey of San Diego, California and sister Pauline Massey Adkins of Oceanside, California, and many aunts, cousins, and friends from this area.

Donald Gene Sullivan, 60, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, passed away Friday, January 14th, 2005 at the Veterans Hospital in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
Memorial services for Mr. Sullivan were held at the Paschal Funeral Home in Kerens, Texas.

Lottie Murle Johnston Sessions Caskey, born April 5th, 1917, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 7th, 2005, at the home of her daughter in Corsicana.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sydney and Mellie Johnston; 14 brothers and sisters; husband, C.R. “Buddy” Sessions; and husband James W. Caskey.

Anna Lorene Hopkins, 86, of Kerens passed away Tuesday, January 11th, 2005 at Heritage Oaks West Nursing Home in Corsicana.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 13th at the Paschal Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Wes Johnson officiating. Burial followed at the Prairie Point Cemetery. Pallbearers were Byron Vernon, Keith Vernon, Robert Johnson, Bob Lancaster, Tom Tarkington, and Jerry Hopkins.

Lucille McCurdy was born February 3rd, 1924 in Beebe, Arkansas and passed away December 20th, 2004. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul McCurdy, two grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. She is survived by sons, Paul E. McCurdy, Charles T. McCurdy, and Bobby L. McCurdy; daughters, Dorothy A. Hicks and Shirley D. Connerly; sisters, Mae Clair and Geneva Pettypool; brother, Joe Barentine; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Joe C. Goains, 76, of Robinson passed away Saturday, October 23rd, 2004. Services were held Wednesday, October 27th at Pecan Grove Funeral Home in Waco, Texas with the Reverend Albert Schroeder and the Reverend Paul Patterson officiating. Burial followed at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Clifton, Texas.
