Local News: Kerens Care Center Spring Spectacular a Success!!
|
|
Anonymous writes "The Kerens Care Center Spring Spectacular was a success.
Activity director Dawn Douglas did the planning and preparing for this event, but says she couldn't have pulled it off without the help of her wonderful volunteers and co-workers.
"The kitchen staff and book keeper Sheila Everett were so helpful,I couldn't have done it with out them," said Dawn Douglas. She wanted to say a special thanks also to her volunteers that were there to help, as always, and to Church of Promise, from Tool, for helping all day baking items for the cake walk and for giving all of the residents that are mothers a long stem red rose and a Bible. This made the lady's day. The entertainment was a big success. Everyone enjoyed hearing the beautiful voice of the director of nurses, Chelsea Lundy, and the great Old Time classics performed by the Bobby Fluker Band.

randallh writes "In Denton, Texas friday night I saw a very funny school play, The Revenge of the Space Pandas or Blinky Rudich and the Two Speed Clock. My niece, Amber Warner, was in the school play at MC Math Middle School in Denton. The play started out in Blinky's attic and then prgressed to the planet Crest View in a galaxy far far away, 50 light years from Earth. Bob the sheep was played by Eric Antonowicz. It was a great play. The American playwright David Mamet wrote the play."

cindyscott writes "Red, white, blue, stars, stripes. . . . . .just colors and shapes, you say. Well, put those colors and shapes together and you have a flag. The flag of the United States of America. A flag that has been around for over 200 years. A flag that swells your heart with pride and brings you to your feet when it passes in a parade. A flag that flutters over the graves of the heroic veterans of past wars. A flag that brings tears to your eyes when seen draped over the coffin of a young soldier who gave his or her life fighting for what's just and right. A flag that stands for American Freedom. Our flag."
