To most Americans, the orient is China, Japan, Korea and Vietnam, to Europeans it is the area of India and Pakistan.

Thomas writes "Email is the topic this week and it is an interesting bit of adventure to explore all the many aspects of this relatively new phenomena of communication as we begin this century. Some wire heads can argue that email has been around for the last fifteen years or so but you cannot participate in that argument if you have not been in a large corporation or have not had a computer during that time frame. In fact, as late as 1990 I was visiting the offices of Toppan and Dai-Nippon in Tokyo, Japan and discovered they still did not have the infrastructure in place to make worldwide use of email. I lectured their representatives on the spot about doing business with high tech companies here in the U.S.A. when they were not even able to give me a business card with their email address on it. Don’t let anyone tell you Japan is technologically ahead of us here in the U.S.A.. We are still the leaders and are going to stay the leaders in this rapidly changing world of technology."

Thomas writes "Here is an interesting experiment for you to try. This is a highly intellectual trick I learned in India a long time ago to help one clear their mind of clutter and rubble when you need to be able to focus. Obviously focus is required when discussing the intricacies of Kerens.Com….. or is it?"

Thomas writes "Well let’s see what might be interesting this week. How about talking about getting started on your way to being a member of the growing population that is wired into the Internet? Sound reasonable? I suspect there may be several readers of the Kerens Tribune who would like to obtain a computer and get connected to the Internet, but do not know where to start. So lets see what we can do about that."

Tribune Columns: Kerens.Com #1 Introduction and Where We Are Going February 6th, 2000
|
|
Webmaster writes "Many thanks to the Kerens Tribune for giving us here at Kerens.Com a column where we can continue our task of promoting the City of Kerens and helping to bring our community, both local and remote, closer together. There is so much we can accomplish, so many candles that we can light, that it is almost incomprehensible until you begin to see it with your own eyes. The new millennium is indeed here, the Internet is a tidal wave of new opportunities for us, and Kerens is going to be front and center in making use of it."

The master programmer moves from program to program without fear. No
change in management can harm him. He will not be fired, even if the project
is canceled. Why is this? He is filled with the Tao.
-- Geoffrey James, "The Tao of Programming"
