Local News: What I Want On Main Street
News What I would like to see on Main Street?

First, a good automotive place with real mechanics.

Second, a good hardware store with lumber nails and things guys want to buy so we do not have to drive to the big C or A.

How about a real autoparts store unlike the one on Colket that I have never seen open in the three years I have lived here.

Kerens is located on one of the busiest highways going to East Texas. Every thing is moving toward Corsicana off hwy 45 and sooner then later we will have to grow and expand. How about contacting Walmart and have them consider building here. Like they say, build it and they will come. We can either grow with the times or dry up and blow away.

Local News: Unclaimed Property on Texas Comptroller Website
Notices southerncrossranch writes "On Friday, November 10, 2006, I was looking through some Texas State websites when I came across the Texas Comptroller site. That is where Carol Keeton Strayhorn is over the department, and they do the unclaimed property of Texas citizens. I put in Kerens and it pulled up list after list of folks in Kerens who have money coming to them. Some names I recognized. Some folks I go to church with, and even my church itself has nearly $100.00 coming to it. Folks, there were some of you who have several hundreds of dollars that is owed to you. So go to this site and you may be one of the lucky ones who have forgotten money coming to you or somebody you know.

All I can say is Merry Christmas."

Local News: Richland-Chambers Lake development auction
News Anonymous writes " High-end home sites in Richland-Chambers
Lake development to sell at auction

CORSICANA, TEXAS (May 17, 2006) – From the time he decided to create a high-end subdivision on Richland-Chambers Lake, Chris Lupo had already decided that he would sell the home sites in the development at auction.

Now, after some two years of work, the auction signs are going up, and bidders from all over Texas (and probably well beyond) will gather around a podium on Saturday, June 24, for the auction of 41 sites in Chambers Landing, with J.P. King Auction Company managing the sale.

“We think it’s the fastest way to get these sites into hands of owners who are going to build homes and get the development into full swing,” said Lupo, president of FrontLine Ventures, based in Greenville, S.C."
