Local News: Brave Combo
News randallh writes "I was in Denton, Texas the other night on the courthouse square. I heard one of the best music groups I have heard in a long time. They are the Denton, Texas Brave Combo. They play polka salsa music, the hokey pokey, and the chicken dance. They have won Grammy awards. They have been on the Simpsons TV show. Go see them in concert. They are supercool."

If you have a chance over the next few weeks when the Christmas lights are on, come drive thru the park and take a look. It is very beautiful at night. I'm sure the Corsicana Christmas Parade is not too far off."

Local News: Corsicana Playoff Game Update.
News randallh writes "The Corsicana Tigers playoff game will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Texas Stadium in Irving, Texas. This game will be the regional semifinal game. The game will be carried on local Corsicana radio station KAND 1340 am. If you can't attend the game in person the local radio station will carry the play by play action. It should be a great game. Go Tigers."

News randallh writes "The Corsicana Tigers won over the Brownwood Lions on a rain soaked Waco ISD Stadium football field. The final score was Corsicana Tigers 38 & Brownwood Lions 21. Corsicana will next play Dallas Lincoln at Texas Stadium in Irving, Texas. This will be the third round playoff game in the state playoffs. How about those Corsicana Tigers."

News randallh writes "In the future there will be a new Holiday Inn Express Motel and Medical Arts will have a new clinic on Highway 287. Collins Street Bakery will be having a new retail store on that highway in the near future. I hope to see more retail out there since Home Depot and Gander Mountain located out there."

Local News: Tigers Play In Waco Saturday Night
News randallh writes "The Corsicana High School Tigers will next play the Brownwood Lions at Waco, Texas at Waco's ISD football stadium Saturday night with kickoff at 7:30 p.m. It should be a good game for both teams. Only one will come away a winner and advance further in the playoffs. To get to the Waco ISD stadium, take the Bagby Avenue exit from Loop 340 Highway 6. The stadium is located at 1401 South New Road."

Local News: New Happenings At Cedar Creek Lake
News randallh writes "At Gunbarrel, Texas on Cedar Creek Lake there will be in the future a new residential retail marina complex. Also at Mabank, Texas there will be a new subdivision called the Ranch on Cedar Creek Lake. That area is a fast growing place. There should also be more retail in that area in the not too distant future."

News randallh writes "At Ennis Lions Stadium this Thursday night, the Tigers defeated the Seagoville Dragons 42 to 7. The Corsicana Tigers will next play the winner of Saturday's football game between Brownwood and Midlothian. Way to go Corsicana. Go all the way to the State Football Playoffs."

News randallh writes "Friday night at Tiger Field the Corsicana HIgh School Tigers beat their longtime foe, the Ennis Lions, 30 to 26. The Tigers will play Seagoville this Thursday night at Lions Stadium in Ennis, Texas. The football stadium is located on the Highway 287 bypass in Ennis. Hopefully the Tigers will go all the way. This is one Tiger fan glad to see our local team in the playoffs. Way to go guys."

News randallh writes "The bond issue has passed in Corsicana and Corsicana High School will have a new stadium that will seat 8,000 football fans. There will also be a new concession stand, new pressbox, also the new stadium will be used for Navarro College football games. And it can be used for playoff games. I'm glad the bond passed. It's time to move forward."

Local News: Aerial Mapping of Kerens to be produced in the Fall of 2004
Notices Anonymous writes "Laudan Aerial, of Corsicana, will be producing color aerial scaled mapping photography of the Kerens area, in the fall of 2004. The mapping will be done to standard engineering scales and available in quadrangle photo form, either on 36 inch square paper sheets or on CD-R for PC and Auto Cad applications.

Anyone with special requirements for detail of map (scales) may contact this office, either by phone at 903 872 3087, by email aeropix@swbell.net, or visit the "aeropix@swebell.net" company website. A letter is posted for small communities explaining our plans for municiple mapping this fall and winter."
