And Now You Do

Book of Proverbs
20:8, A king that sitteth in the throne of judgment scattereth away all evil with his eyes.

JoAnne: Time
JoAnne What time is it? We all ask that question several times every day. Remember the old adage: Today was tomorrow, yesterday? It is according to where you are in that trilogy that determines what “time” is for you. If for you the time was yesterday – then it’s too late. If for you the time is tomorrow – then it’s too early. The only time we have is now – we only have today. At birth, each of us is given a span of time; however, we are not told how long that span will be. Some of us are given more time than others. But the question for each of us is: “How do we want to spend that span of time?” Sometimes we waste our time. There are other times when we crowd our time with too much activity. But always we spend our time by our choices – some good choices and some bad choices.

JoAnne: I MET A JOY COLLECTOR
JoAnne jo writes "By JoAnne Tuttle

One day not long ago, I watched a tiny young girl named Rebecca as she stood before the window enjoying a sunset. She soaked it in, then took a breath and absorbed a little bit more. She collected a moment of joy by stopping for a view of God at work. She is a joy-collector. She became one by choice--not birth. Anyone can become a joy-collector if they choose to spend the moment collecting memorable joys.

We must do our best not to miss those moments of joy--for life is so short. Every day can be like a suitcase to collect our joys, little joys and big joys. We must fill each day full--full of joy memories. We collect those memories because one day we may need some of them to help us through those cold, dreary, dark and lonely days."

JoAnne: CELEBRATING MOTHER
JoAnne jo writes "“CLARA MARGARET TUTTLE,
THE GODDESS OF LIBERTY
IN THE RBBB CIRCUS”

By JoAnne Tuttle

Celebrating Mother’s Day this past week reminded me of my relationship with my mother-in-law, Clara Margaret Tuttle (1885-1985). And I recalled a story my husband told me about his mother when she was young.

In 1971, when my husband and I married, my mother-in-law, Clara Tuttle, was eighty-six years old; however, she was as spry as 'Hannah Montana.' She was a delightful mother-in-law and dearly loved and respected. Her home was in Wisconsin where winters are very severe. So, shortly after Christmas each year she would come by train to Texas to stay with us until the end of May when she would return to Wisconsin."

JoAnne: THE NEW YEAR -- THE LAND OF BEGINNING AGAIN
by JoAnne Tuttle
JoAnne Oh, where is that land
That land of beginning again?
We long to set forth on the voyage
To find that land
Leaving all past mistakes behind
Reviving our sinking hearts
To find peace and contentment
Like never before we've known

JoAnne: Celebrating Valentine's Day
JoAnne jo writes "LOVELY TO LOOK AT
MY VALENTINE

By Emery Tuttle

After being single too long back in 1971, each Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday night, I went dancing at either Wintergarden Ballroom in Dallas or Guys and Dolls Ballroom in Fort Worth. During the three years I was single I didn’t have a monogamous relationship with anyone until, one night at “Guys and Dolls,” I got JoAnne in a “Paul Jones” dance."

JoAnne: It'S More Blessed To Give
JoAnne jo writes "

By JoAnne Tuttle

Question: Which are you – a Giver or a Getter?

Usually, we are both. At times we are the unselfish Giver; and at other times we are the self-serving Getter or receiver of the gifts. We have just past the season of gifts – both giving and getting. All of us have heard “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” What does that mean?

Well, when I was a child, I didn’t understand that saying at all. I couldn’t believe that “giving” could ever be better than “getting.” What child believes that? After all, we all like to get gifts. I remember those times as Christmas approached, all I could think about was what I wanted to “get” for Christmas. Have you ever done that? Of course you have. We all make a long list of all the things we want to “get” from Santa."

JoAnne: TURKEYS ARE THE DUMBEST BIRDS WALKING
JoAnne jo writes "

So why give thanks for them?

Column by JoAnne Tuttle

On turkey day each year Emery Tuttle recalls his time as a turkey farmer. Tuttle explained, “If left out in the rain, turkeys will turn their heads straight up at the rain and drown themselves. But on the other hand if a skunk gets in amongst them at night, the next morning you will find the turkeys all roosting in the trees. They have sense enough to leave the scene of a crime.”

Tuttle, a resident of Cedar Creek Lake, lives with his wife at 147 Esquire Estates Road, Mabank, Texas. In his recently published book, “And The Angels Sing,” 87 year old Tuttle chronicles the days he spent raising 450 turkeys."

CELEBRATING VETERANS DAY

Eighty-seven year old WW II Pilot Remembers B25G Plane Capturing a Jap Flag

Column by JoAnne Tuttle

World War II has come and gone, but for Emery Tuttle, resident of Cedar Creek Lake, the memory of those days still lingers on. He recently published his memoirs, “And the Angels Sing, subtitled Stories of a WW II Pilot,” which chronicles the account of his experiences during the war that left behind what has been called the greatest generation.

Tuttle was born in 1920 in Wisconsin. On October15, 1940, with five of his best friends, he joined the Wisconsin National Guard for one year of federal military service. But before their one year commitment was up, the U. S. Congress extended all military service for the duration of the emergency. The attack on Pearl Harbor extended their service until the end of the war."
